Up your's GM!

GM! Screw them! The pomposity of their hundred year reign is raining down upon them! What ye sow, ye shall reap! Oh, really? What’s good for GM is good for Amerika? Sound off. But for a few shining exceptions in the Cadillac line, and some very solid trucks in the GMC line, GM has been making the same cheap shoddy products for over 30 years. When the opportunity arose to shove the SUV down the consumers throat, it was mighty GM who led the way…with no thought of environmental, cultural, or economic cost! Damn the public, we’ll tell them what they want!

So when they realize the need to manufacture a respectably economic yet well built smaller automobile, what do they give the damned public? The Vega? The Cobalt?

GM finally saw the writing on the corporate wall with Oldsmobile. Redundant 20 years ago, why was it still flogged year after year until it’s last gasp? This isn’t your fathers Oldsmobile. This isn’t Oldsmobile.

Now, with bankruptcy looming, they are considering concentrating on three models, Chevy, Buick, Cadillac. They admit it now, 20 years too late! The average car-guy could have told them. It’s very simple. You don’t need all these carryovers, and Pontiac is just an Oldsmobile. Let it go.

GMC will make trucks. That’s what they do. Forget Chevy trucks. Call them GMC. Chevrolet should concentrate on the cheap entry level, yet “adequate” automobiles they’ve always been. Buick is a mid level, heavier, more substantial model line…as it’s always been. Cadillac should be built for the high end luxury car buyer. As it was, then forgot it's role throughout the 80’s and most of the 90’s, but has found it's way again. Leave it.

Build these 3 makes of cars within their respective image. Build the trucks and SUV’s by GMC. End redundancy. End model carry over. Don’t tart up one model line by sharing the same platform but changing the taillights, plastic chrome and wheels. Don’t . The public knows, and won't buy it.
