Holly Holy
he put that belief system on the fast track, whether by deed, adaption, or
adoption, and the Empire which had served him well was doomed. What
followed was the Dark Ages. There was no light until, uh, well.....The
Enlightenment! Har!
Descarte walks into a tavern. Barkeep asks, "so, Rene, will you have your
usual Aqua Vit?"
He thinks for a moment, "Oui", and quickly gulps it down.
"Will you have another, then?"
He thinks for a moment...."I think not
"POOF"! He disappears!
Most civilizations have adapted ancient ritual and mythology
towards their own designs. Campbell argues this point well.
Does "Spirit" mean an all-encompassing universal life force? Is the
very air we breathe positively charged with exhaled molecules of
Descarte, Constantine, JC, Buddah, Robert Johnson, Einstein, the Duke,
Graham Chapman, Lennon, my loyal dog Grover B. Cheese, St. Augustine, A.
Lincoln, et al?
If so, don't the negatively charged molecules of de Sade, Constantine,
Hister, Mao, Cheney, Rayguns, Manson, Lay, Cortez, Bud Lite, et al, cancel
out any life force, yin-yang, so to speak? It's
balance. Sometimes.
I prefer the pagan view of spirits. Little gnomes, pixies, fairies,
hob-goblins, gremlins, trolls, wizards and witches...in all our lives, all
living things, and all things created by humans. It's fun and never depressing as
faith based religion manages with all it's guilt trips and holier than thous...

Ron Paul? Yeah...let me get back to you on this one. It seems he wants the 50's back....
Lord help us, we have no choices.
Let's try revolution.

Oregon is proud of it's 66% high school graduation rate?
66% huh? Duh, when I was in skool that was a bad grade, but I gradiated with help from the Bored of Edication and the libary! It prolly helped. I went on to kollitch at a Big University, and got me a deegree.
It was a bricks and motor institution by the way, none of these disturbingly easy "correspondence school" (on-line university) paper mills...even my cat has a degree from one of those, and he's rather stupid.
My main pointed question is: Are the graduating 44% learning anything?

Oil prices rising? Ah, ain't that a shame...
Sure a lot of us cut down on our driving. We ride motorbikes and scooters. We take public trans. The poor among us will have to forgo the Sunday drive in the country. Forget that! The middle class will have to forgo the same Sunday drive. Folks will be spending more time in their neighborhoods, their towns, getting to know each other. A new pastime will emerge...rabid crowds RV tipping. You want to blame someone? Blame the buttheads in the honkin' SUV's, the RV's and the trucks. Other than that- shut up and drive!
It's all about profit, greed, and gee, hate to say it, but we're RUNNING OUT OF OIL. OK? Get it thru our thick heads...
Enjoy!

Oil? What oil?
We miss the point. It doesn't matter what's happening to the Middle East, or China, or Russia, or Exxon Mobil. Big oil doesn't need an excuse to raise their profits. The American people will pay and pay any price to keep their cars hurtling down the highways. If petrol went to $6 a gallon next week, we would bitch and moan and pay the piper. The poor and working poor would suffer the most until they gave up their cars but for special events, like a Sunday drive out in the country.
The wealthy won't think twice about it.
We are running out of oil. It's not about cars. It's about running out of this resource and having to find another. When the Middle East has pumped the last drop, they'll simply fold their tents and live as Nomads in the desert. When we have no cars, we will go back to horses and an agrarian society.

Election day '10
Sure bailing out the brokerage firms was unwise. They should have been left to fail. Only the strong survive. Perhaps the banking and insurance industries should have had their "adjustments" also...But the Dems know where the money is, and that's that. Big business is the golden rule.
Bailouts were bad. Job creations have not happened. But give the little pukes a chance. It took 8 years to screw us into this position, let the other side take a few years at least to stem but blood flow. Then if it doesn't work, which it appears won't have a chance, let there be revolution.
That seems to be a possibly valid option.

University of Phoenix being sued?

Great! It's about time people learned about these false front "schools of learning". The only thing you'll learn is how to spend your money on a worthless paper claiming you've graduated from a correspondence school. Just because it has a brick and mortar building with grounds and a parking lot, it's still a shyster correspondence school run out of somebody's closet in East Gary, Indiana.
As authentic colleges and universities become mere diploma mills, spewing out vaguely trained and mostly ignorant graduates as cattle headed up to the killing room floors, these paper schools promise as much, yet deliver even less.
"Oh, a correspondence degree in Chemical Engineering? We have a job in Housekeeping for you!"
Wise up, people, that paper is as worthless as Confederate dollar bills.
