It would be a fair and equitable tax burden on those that flaunt wealth through their choice of motor vehicle. It would be an equitable tax on those who insist on operating large motor homes.

Pay for your usage. Not thru the gas pump, everyone pays the same at the pump. We're all punished at the pump. But some vehicles use up more road: the heavier the vehicle, the more road damage. The more fossil fuel burnt, the more pollution occurs. This is the true cost of operation.

We all have a choice. Some choose not to conserve. Those who don't should only pay their share of the true cost.

Vehicle road use tax needs to be based on size and weight of the personal vehicle. It follows the heavier a vehicle, the more tax burden to the owner.

For example:

Motorcycles delivering 40+ mpg is not taxed. Those delivering 40- mpg less is taxed $100.

Autos delivering 40+ mpg are not taxed. A sliding scale is then used. 35-39 mpg = $100/ 30-34 mpg = $200/ 25-29 mpg = $300/20-24 mpg = $400/ 15-19 mpg = $500/ less than 15 mpg = $1,000 yearly tax.

Smaller and lighter trucks, vans, and s.u.v.'s can be taxed within the automobile sliding scale.

Large trucks, vans, and s.u.v.'s are taxed by weight and mpg.

For example:

Trucks and s.u.v.'s at 1/2 ton with high mileage might cost $500. With low mileage, $1,000. Large trucks and s.u.v.'s would cost $1,000. Motor homes, by size and weight, from $2,000 to $8,000 yearly.

Fair and equitable. The owners choice. You are rewarded with low cost of operation if you choose to drive an economical vehicle. You pay more for electing not to choose economy.

The Feds should adopt this motor vehicle tax. Proceeds can go towards hiway maintenance and a national health system. Call it the *I.Y.P. Federal Vehicle Tax.

* I.Y.P. ( If You wanna Play- you gotta pay!)

I can't help but notice a pandemic problem with cars having non-functional turn signals. The weird thing is, they don't work when changing lanes or exiting, when they might actually be needed to alert other drivers to your intention, but they seem to work quite well when not needed. When turning right from a right turn only lane. DUH! Of course you are turning right. Morons.

All gods are Republicans

I am a believer. I am a non-denominational catholic (lower case c, look it up, it means universal!) I guess my current thoughts have me questioning this whole eurocentric meaning of GOD. Could god really be Allanis? No? I doubt it. But god does have a sense of humor, or, at least it SHOULD!

No, how could any other than a white man's "why does god let bad things happen?" not question the profoundly simple answer? How could anyone believe? But, we're in trouble if these people get into power!

Oh shit! It's too late!

Isn't this the same god of the Hebrews? The same god of the Muslims?

No, after all is said and done, I'm probably a pagan. Yes. I could see gods and goddesses, spirits and wraiths, trolls and goblins all over. There is a spirit in everything. Not just one.

God said "let there be light!" and there was? Creationism! Intelligent design! Intelligent life in the universe? Please!

Or pond scum, floating for eons until the waters were just right, the sun glinted onto the cells just right, a little tadpole flopped onto the shore.....

Give or take a few billion years, there up ahead in the distance! It's Las Vegas!

'Course it begs the question: who or what made the scum, or the sun, or the pond?

Republican. Is that neo-con republican, W can do no wrong Republican? Or a fallen republican, middle road, solid, straight ticket, questioning, Republican? What is a republican? For the republic? Or for big business? Reagan republican, or Lincoln republican? Don't you think Abe would be kicking some butt right about now, like JC throwing the money-lenders from the temple?

As for the 2 party system, it's so 20th century! We should adopt the parliamentary example and define our causes as liberal or c
Conservative.

I don't believe there's a difference in our current "party" system. Except it ain't no party! Is our nation really down to Red and Blue, or are we having a hard time identifying to a Demican or Republicrat party?

Do you remember what Red use to mean?

I am a post-apocalyptic progressive radical. That could mean, I see the causes and the issues, not the person, or the "line" being thrown out. ....what about the people who just vote party lines, damn, no wonder we're in trouble here, eh? But, all diddling aside, it makes no difference anymore, it really hasn't since 1982 or 84, corporate business interests rule the politics. We have met the enemy, and they is us!

Oh-I absolutely despise fireworks and the Fourth of July.

I think this whole fireworks thing is a little over blown. Wah!

Each year goes by, more goobers blow their fingers off, and less people remember what it's about, much less call the reason.

S'more

Verdana? Where's that coming from? I've been out of touch for awhile. Gone, really. But nothing has changed in that year. Petrol is approaching $3/gal. again in the Untied Snakes. This is unacceptable, I'm glad I have a moto which extends some good gas mileage. If I stay off the throttle.

This is so hard to do.

Yet, in much the same way, wouldn't we all be better staying off the throttle?
